Swedish Flag Coffee Mug
The national flag of Sweden. The Scandinavian cross design is shared in common with Denmark, Norway, Finland, Iceland and the Faroe Islands, but with blue and yellow. Blue and yellow have been associated with Sweden since at least the 13th century, and today are still instantly recognized as Swedish. Legend has it that King Eric IX saw a golden cross in the sky when he entered Finland during the First Swedish Crusade in 1157, and used a golden/yellow cross on a blue bkackground as his banner, but the oldest pictures of the flag date from the early 16th century, so who knows how old it really is?
