St. Peter the Apostle (RLS 14) Coffee Mug 1

St. Peter the Apostle (1st century) hardly requires an introduction. First in honor among the twelve apostles, he was the rock upon which Christ Jesus Himself established His nascent church. Martyred at Rome c. 64, St. Peter was crucified upside down so as not to emulate too closely Christ's death on the cross. + St. Peter is patron of the universal Church. + Image Source (RLS 14): Antique image of St. Peter the Apostle in chromolithography with gilt accents from Red Letter Saints: Being a Series of Biographies of those Saints for which Proper Collects, Epistles and Gospels are appointed in the Book of Common Prayer. Printed by E. Kaufmann, Lahr, Baden, Germany, for the Society for Promoting Christian Knowledge / S.P.C.K. (London, 1911), p. 47. From the designer’s private library. + Feast: June 29 + Feel free to change the background color. The ‘Red Letter Saints’ palette is the same for all nineteen images from the book with minor variations. It consists of the following colors (with hex codes): cream (#FEEFBE), medium yellow (#F1D168), medium yellow-green (#999954), medium light aqua (#ACCBB1), medium dark aqua (#8CAC98), mauve (#E6BEA5), salmon pink (#FAAE8B), peach (#F5BD94), brownish orange (#E48B11), beige (#E8C6A1), dark gold (#87722E), and dark red-brown (#460000). Choose as you will! + Text is in dark red-brown (#460000) which matches the figure's outline.
