Marmot Mug
The yellow-bellied marmot, also known as the whistle pig, generally occupies open habitats such as steppes, alpine meadows, pastures, gravel-covered fields, and forest edge. Marmots prefer to construct their burrows on open, grassy or herb-covered slopes. They can be found at elevations up to 13,400 feet in the Rocky Mountains. Many a big-game hunter has seen his intended prey disappear in the distance when the hunter’s presence was loudly announced by this large rodent.
